I read an interesting article by a friend of mine, Dr. Boyce Watkins (@drboycewatkins1) and while I don't agree with the idea of mobs of black teens harming others and doing damage to their communities, I was amazed at some of the things I read. Especially about Philadelphia considering the stern position taken by its Mayor on these mobs... Mayor Nutter stated these youth have damaged their race. And while their actions do strike a blow to the ever worsening plight of black America, is it worse than the damage "mobs" of bankers have done to our country? Or the damage caused by gun violence which so many politicians turn a blind eye to because of contributions they receive from gun manufacturers? When was the last time you sat down with a group of young Philadelphians Mayor Nutter and discussed the concerns and fears they have about entering the "real world" after they graduate (if they're fortunate enough) from the Philadelphia school system, which by the way is the most racially segregated in the United States. Yes Mayor Nutter, the black youth in Philly have a problem. The question is, are YOU part of the solution???
